About

Launched by Rebecca in April 2013, Wild About Pet Care, based in Cheltenham, was established to offer a variety of pet care needs including home from home boarding and day care, pet visits, dog walking etc.

A little more about Rebecca …

Rebecca, founder and owner, has been passionate about animal welfare and protection since childhood.

From a young age Rebecca worked in stables and helped at a local farm and thoroughly enjoyed being surrounded by dogs. Then at the age of 17, Rebecca secured a position as a Researcher for local animal welfare charity Naturewatch. Here Rebecca worked on a number of animal protection projects including projects with the Born Free Foundation, Care for the Wild, WSPA, BUAV, Animal Aid and many others as well as representing the charity at Westminster, Downing Street and The European Commission.

lassie2During two trips overseas (Thailand and India) Rebecca and a friend met two very poorly dogs and responded by finding them the care that they needed (even resulting in bringing one of them home!). Click here if you would like to read about her stories and learn how you can help if you ever find yourself in a similar situation – you’d be surprised at how many organisations are out there!

lassie1More recently Rebecca spent the winter of 2011/2012 volunteering in Malaysia at a dog and cat rescue centre called LASSIE. The majority of her time was spent walking, socialising, feeding, cleaning and grooming the dogs though she also spent time in the cattery area. During the winter of 2012/2013 Rebecca volunteered for LINC (Leukemia & Intensive Chemotherapy Fund) walking patients dogs so that they could stay within their home whilst their best friend recovered.

After several years working at the University of Gloucestershire and then as Co-ordinator of Vision 21 for six years (Cheltenham based climate change charity) Rebecca felt a strong pull to restart and concentrate on her work with animals and so established Wild About Pet Care.

Rebecca is deeply passionate about animals and follows a plant based diet. Rebecca gets involved with campaigns for improved animal welfare as much as possible and hopes to do more in the future.

Rebecca hopes to meet you and your pets soon and feels sure that you will be delighted with the care that she can provide.
